A Comentary on The Gayness of Hairy Potter

Now I realize that this post will cut straight to the core of many people out there, but considering the recent release of the final book in the series I feel that I almost have to address the issue of the ridiculousness of Hairy Potter. First off the books have become more enjoyable for their popularity than for actually reading the book. I would assume and i doubt be wrong that a majority of the people who read the books have more fun doing so because everyone else does and they can join in the conversation, than they otherwise would have if they were the only ones. If it were possible that each reader of the series would be the only person to have read the book, the number of people who read the books would decrease drasticly. I dont know if that makes sense but without the potter community allot of people wouldnt bother. Now that doesnt necissarily make the book bad but I'll go on. First off it is a book about a teen who is around the age of puberty, being guided by a big hairy man to a school where they learn how to play with magical wands and catch golden snitches, which Harry discovers he can catch quite well in his mouth. Outside the homoerotic nature of this, the story is at best a glorified cinderella story. Harry is saved from his cruel step parents and step brother by his fairy godfather and discovers that he is not a princess but a famous wizard. My final point in this whole Harry trashing, is that if the books were written well and were good books it would undoubtedly take longer than 9 years to come out with 8 of them, especially granted the size of the books. I am glad the singal mother writter was able to make money and do well, but it seems sad that such good works of literature as are out there besides Harry Poter, some even aimed at the same age group which is teenagers around 13, while obviously expands to others who seemingly have as much time to waste as froshmen in high school, are left to the back shelf while Harry gets more press, publicity, and sales than all of them. Although this makes sense given other recent popular works: stuffed animals with special tags that said they were Beenie Babies, little cardboard circles named Pogs, an imaginary digital pet that poops and you have to clean it up Tomagotchi. My whole point is that Harry deserves no further praise than most of these items. It is a book. A young adults book, like say goosebumps. I can appreciate that people enjoy reading it as I did goosebumps (despite the fact that harry potter is gay wizard and goosebumps was about warewolves and stuff) I just think it recieves too much credit.
